Edo election tribunal begins sitting, urges counsels to be upright and diligent

The Edo State Election Petitions Tribunal on Friday commenced sitting at the premises of Court of Appeal along Aduwawa road, Ikpoba-Okha local government area of the state.

At its inaugural sitting yesterday, Chairman of the tribunal, Justice S. Anjo, urged defence counsels to be upright and diligent in the handling of electoral petitions to enable the tribunal deliver judgment within the 180-day time frame stipulated for hearing of all

petitions.
Other members of the Tribunal are – Justice I. A. Yusuf and Justice (Mrs.) A. M. Alli.
Justice ‎Anjo pointed out that the panel would adjudicate all petitions relating to the elections and solicited assistance of members of the Bar to ease the work.
A total of 10 petitions were filed at the tribunal.
