Mourinho Strongly Against Selling Cech, Not Even to an EPL Rival

Jose Mourinho is adamant Petr Cech will not leave Chelsea to a Premier league rival in the summer transfer window.

The Czech international has been touted by a host of top European clubs since the end of the previous campaign, with Arsenal, who are reportedly out for a long-term successor for Poland international Wojciech Szczesny, the latest to have been linked with the goalkeeper.
Cech has played second fiddle for most of the season following the return of Thibault Courtois from his loan at Atletico Madrid.

However, the Portuguese has stressed his desire to keep the 32-year-old at the English champions elect, regardless of if he wants to leave at the end of the season in order to boaster his playing chances.
“One thing is Jose Mourinho and another is (Roman) Abramovich, and another thing is the board, because the board is a little bit of me and a little bit of other people,” Mourinho told reporters at his press conference on Friday.

“If it was me, if it was my decision, the decision is Petr to stay. That’s it. It would be my decision for Petr to stay. Even against his will? Yes. Cech, who moved to Stamford Bridge from Rennes in 2004 for £7m, has made 484 appearances for the west London club so far.
He has won the Premier League Golden Gloves three times and was named in the PFA Team of the Year for a second time last season after making 34 league appearances for Chelsea.
“I think that the club is more important than the player and, as was true this season, the club needs two very good goalkeepers,” he continued.
“Without Petr this season, I don’t think the club would be champions because he played six important matches in the Premier League. Without these points, we probably wouldn’t be champions.
“For me, decision number one, Petr will stay. After that second point, to go but not in England. The option I don’t want is for him to go to an English club. But I repeat, I am just the manager and he means so much for this club and what he did in this club, I think he deserves everything from this club. If the club decision is different to mine I will accept it.”
Cech has won 12 major trophies with Chelsea, including four Premier league titles and the Champions League.
