Sunderland Approach Berbatov
Dimitar Berbatov has revealed that he had an approach from Sunderland earlier this season – and had wanted to sign for the Black Cats.

The move broke down because the Bulgaria forward heard nothing more from the Wearsiders after an initial conversation. But he told Sky’s Goals on Sunday programme that he was still hoping to return to football and has continued to train and keep himself fit with a view to returning to the game.
“I want to play and to be honest, I had a conversation with a couple of managers - even the Sunderland one. But in the end, nothing happened,” he said.

Tielemans Nearing Stamford Bridge Move
Chelsea are ready to steal a march on Manchester United in the race to sign £25m-rated Belgium ace Youri Tielemans

The Anderlecht prodigy is one of Europe’s hottest properties with a host of clubs interested in signing him.
But Chelsea are weighing up a bid as soon as the transfer window opens after sending a scout to watch him against Manchester United this week. Tielemans, 19, who already captains Anderlecht despite his young age, impressed as his side earned a 1-1 draw in the Europa League clash.

Inter Milan were also there to watch him, while Juventus, Monaco and Paris St-Germain all remain interested in the midfielder, who is under contract until 2020.

But Chelsea are willing to make the first bid for Tielemans after becoming frustrated in their pursuit of Atalanta’s Franck Kessie, who now looks set to join Roma.
