Flying Eagles Coach Clear on World Cup Squad
Nigeria under-20 national team coach, Manu Garba, says he
already has a clear picture of the make-up of his 21-man party for this
month’s World Youth Championship in New Zealand.
Garba, who led Nigeria to success at the Fifa U-17 World Cup in 2013 in the United Arab Emirates, is expected to submit to Fifa Nigeria’s final squad list for the U-20 World Cup on Friday.
“I am fully clear on my final squad for the World Cup, but that is not to say there could be one or two gate crashers,” said Manu
Genk defender Wilfred Ndidi is expected to join up with the rest of the team on Monday at their training camp in Nuremberg, Germany. Three other Europe-based youngsters – Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon- are likewise expected.
On Friday evening they played a two-a-side game between the main team and the second team, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Chidera Ezeh and Bernard Bulbwa scored for the first team, before Wasiu Jimoh netted a brace for the other team.
They will play their first test match in Germany against Hoffenheim U23 team on Tuesday afternoon.
